For me, the recent long weekend was filled with powdery snow, lots of skiing, and time with good friends. My church youth group went to Winterplace, a ski spot in West Virginia, and it was a blast!
It was my first time skiing, and learning how was pretty tricky at first, but after a few falls, I got the hang of it, and had so much fun! Saturday was a big learning curve day, and by the end of the day I felt super comfortable on skis. Then on Sunday, I skied all day with my friends, and went night skiing which was incredible. I love skiing now, and will definitely make time to plan some ski trips of my own soon or later on.
I also loved the trip because I love being in the mountains because I feel very at home and happy when I am. In West Virginia, the views were beautiful, the snow was perfect, and there was definitely a very homey vibe for me there. I loved getting to visit a new state. I also loved getting to enjoy little things like drinking a hot cup of coffee in the morning and watching a snowy sunrise, or hearing the crunch of snow under my feet with each step. Since we don't get much snow in Atlanta, I can't help smiling when I get to be out in it.
So if you love skiing or snowboarding, or you want to learn, check out Winterplace. It has a lot of great slopes at all ski levels, and West Virginia is a beautiful place to be. Overall, it's a groovy place to ski at and you'll be glad you went!
