This weekend my family got to move my brother in to New York University for his freshman year of college. It was such a sweet trip, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to go with my big brother and help with his move in! I thought I would give you some of the details of the trip, since we got to spend some time in the city. Here it is, a little move in weekend fun!
We made our way to New York City on Friday afternoon and the flight was absolutely beautiful (plane window views never cease to amaze me). I downloaded a couple episodes of Psych to watch, listened to some good music, and had a really chill flight. When our plane landed we made our way to our hotel which was in Tribeca and called it a night.
The next day we started the morning with a subway ride to The Butchers Daughter, a healthy and adorable breakfast spot that had been on my list of places to try for awhile. I had a smoothie and it was so good.
After breakfast, my family ran a couple errands, grabbing some stuff for my brother's dorm, as well as doing a little exploring of the area he would be situated in. The area was groovy, and my family and i really enjoyed getting to look around. There was a local farmer's market going on, so we wandered through for awhile, stopping to glance at all the fruits and veggies and fun stuff. Then we grabbed a picnic lunch and walked over to a nearby park to enjoy it.
After a little more college errand running, we chilled at the hotel for a bit and then grabbed some New York pizza at a spot called Lombardi's. Then we strolled back to the hotel and I made a quick stop at Brandy Melville, which I really liked because we don't have one in Atlanta and they have super cute stuff! I also found a cute vegan ice cream spot along the way (I got strawberry preserves with oatmeal cookie crumbs) and it was divine.
The next morning we woke up and walked down the street to a grab and go breakfast spot called Jack's Stir Brew Coffee. They had great organic options, and I ended up grabbing a muffin and an oat milk cinnamon latte. After breakfast we headed to New York University to move my big brother in. There were a lot of people moving in, and all the hustle and bustle was so exciting! We put up all Taylor's posters and set up his dorm, and it turned out looking great. We also popped over a few little welcome events things around campus.
Getting time with my brother to move him into college was really cool to me. He's the best, and all these years with him have been a blast. I know that New York University is going to be an incredible opportunity, and I am so psyched for him and all the adventures that New York holds for him! :)
NYU, you just gained a great guy.
New York, get excited because you have a pretty cool person walking your streets.
& Taylor, enjoy the adventures, soak in each moment, and make some memories.
