My fall break consisted of snowy trails, warm coffee houses, cozy sweaters, and college visits, all enjoyed in my favorite state. It was a super fun trip and a great kickoff to junior year college research and touring. Here are some highlights of my time in Colorado. :)
I love going in art museums and supporting local artists and art advocates when I travel. In Colorado, I got to stop at a couple different art museums, and enjoyed all of them. The three I went to were the Denver Art Museum, CU Boulder Art Museum, and the Clyfford Still Museum. The current exhibits the had were very interesting and unique, and I really liked getting to take it all in. If you get the chance you should stop by.
Restaurants & Coffee Shops
Colorado has some great spots for local and organic food and coffee, and it was really fun to stop in some new places on this trip. My favorite coffee shops were Loyal Coffee, The Cup, and Session Coffee. My favorite organic and healthy restaurants were the Corner Beet (the avocado toast was on another level), Rush Bowls, and Prosper Oats. I really liked getting to try some new places.
One of the things at the top of my list for this trip was getting in some hiking time. There are countless trails in Colorado, so when I'm there I love taking the opportunity to get some hiking time in. The hike I got to go on this trip was at Chautauqua, which is a trail in Boulder. It was gorgeous and a really great chance to get in some exercise and enjoy the outdoors!
The main reason I went on the trip was to tour some colleges. It's my junior year, so the college touring has started! This was my first main set of college tours so far, and I am very interested in going to a school in the mountains that has easy access to the outdoors, so Colorado was a perfect place to check out! I was a big fan of UC Boulder, and enjoyed looking at other Colorado schools as well. There are many more college tours to go though! :)
It was such a fun trip and I really loved having the chance to be back in Colorado. It really is a sweet place, and it was cool to see the college options there, as well as just enjoy my time and see some new things.
I hated to say goodbye to such a beautiful place, but I have
a feeling that I'll be back soon! :)
