Last summer, I had the incredible opportunity to go to Alaska with my family and another family (family friends of ours), and even though it's been months, I wanted to post about it because it was a beautiful experience. Here are some highlights of my experiences from my Alaska trip:
From snow capped mountains to flowers poking out everywhere, the environment here is absolutely vibrant. It was definitely some of the most gorgeous views i had ever seen, which was super cool for me because I find major connection and awe in the outdoors. Some of it seemed almost unreal!
Helicopters & dog sledding
These were two insanely cool experiences my family got to have while in Alaska. To get to the dog camp, we rode in a helicopter over snowy mountains and the views were spectacular. I didn't take many pictures in the helicopter because I didn't want to stop soaking in the experience. Once we got to the dog camp, we got to meet all the sweet puppies, who loved getting to be on a dogsled (when it was time for the sled to stop they would whimper and bark because they wanted to keep running)! Both of these were so incredible, and I am so glad I got to experience them.
I love going on hikes and being outside, and the hiking I got to do here was so amazing. We got to go on a couple different trails, which were all gorgeous and exciting. Like I mentioned in my first highlight, the nature and views in Alaska are breathtaking, and I loved getting to take in those views while doing something I absolutely love!
I loved getting to capture all these cool experiences with photos, especially now when I can look back and be brought back to those moments, but I also learned that not everything has to be captured or posted, but that experiencing and taking things in is sometimes more than a photo could ever capture. Especially with all the beautiful pictures i have to look back on, there are so many things from this trip that will always be un-photographed memories, and those are really special too.
This trip was such a cool thing to get to do and I'm so thankful I got to go on it. My family made sure to look into what we were planning ahead of time and really give this trip a lot of thought, so it was amazing that we had the chance to go and have such a unique experience. I love getting to look back on this trip, and every time i do, my heart fills with joy and gratefulness. Travel is an incredible thing and I am glad every day that my family gives me opportunities to go experience new things and new places through travel. It's life changing!
