Over my spring break, my family went to New York City. I had been to New York a couple of times before, so it was fun to revisit some places in the city, but also have some new adventures and experiences. We got to do a lot of cool stuff, but I thought I would highlight a few of my favorite parts of this trip.
Walking the Brooklyn Bridge
This trip, my family decided to walk the Brooklyn Bridge, and it was really fun! On previous trips, I had gone over the Brooklyn Bridge, but I love going when I'm in New York. The bridge has beautiful views of the city, and makes for great pictures! I also love getting time to move around (i really can't sit still for long), so it's fun to get some steps in and enjoy some New York vibes and views.
Finding New Restaurants
When I travel, I love checking out cute restaurants wherever I'm going. Usually I do a little research beforehand and come up with a list of places I want to go, so I can try to go to some when i'm in the area. This time, I got to check off some places on my list, as well as find some super cool places that weren't on my list. Some of my new favorites we went to were Jack's Wife Freda, The Grey Dog, and Friedman's. All of these had delicious menus that were great for clean eating, vegetarian, gluten free, and many other eating styles. There were also two delicious restaurants we went to that didn't fit the clean eating category, but I loved visiting them because they were authentic New York food. One was Big Al's Pizza, which served New York pizza (literally so good), and the other was Zucker's, which had classic New York bagels and they were delicious.
Brandy Melville is adorable, but there are no locations in Atlanta, or really anywhere close to where I live. Because of this, I'm stuck admiring Brandy Melville's website, and I don't order a lot from them online because it's hard to tell if something will fit, and it takes extra money to ship it and (if needed) ship it back. Keeping all this in mind, going to Brandy Melville was pretty high on my list! I got to go and buy some super cute stuff and loved getting to see their cute store. Their clothes are adorable and so comfy, and I loved getting to go!
Going to the MoMA
I love art museums, and I love visiting a bunch of them when I travel. I'm the type of person that could spend hours walking through an art museum, taking in each exhibit and appreciating every style and technique. This trip, I visited the Museum of Modern Art, and it was groovy! There were so many incredible exhibits, and i was really moved by a lot of them. It was definitely a highlight of the trip for me, and I really enjoyed each aspect f the MoMA.
Drinking good coffee
As you probably know by now, I love coffee. In New York, I love grabbing a coffee and waking with it, enjoying my warm cozy drink among the hustle and bustle and movement of the city streets. It was also cold, so a hot cup of coffee was a whole vibe. I got the best cups of coffee at Pret A Manger and The Grey Dog during this trip.
Enjoying the walkability of New York City
Atlanta isn't a super walkable city, so I love how walkable New York is. It's really nice to get in some physical activity and walk to most places, and it's fun to see everyone walking the streets going from one lace to the next. The walkability of New York definitely adds to the busy, exciting feeling the city holds, so I really enjoyed it.
Overall, going back to New York City was really fun, and I'm really thankful I got the chance to go on the trip. It was awesome!
